What You’ll Do

As an Estimator, you’ll be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive bids for a variety of heavy highway projects including asphalt, concrete, and earthwork scopes. You’ll collaborate with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal departments to ensure thorough, strategic, and timely estimates that help secure and deliver successful projects.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs, project scope analysis, and estimate setup

• Solicit and analyze bids from vendors and subcontractors

• Coordinate bid reviews and participate in post-bid handoff to project management

• Support project teams with change order calculations and post-job cost reviews

• Build strong internal and external relationships to improve competitiveness

• Contribute to a culture of safety and compliance with OSHA/MSHA standards

• Develop and mentor others, while participating in ongoing leadership and technical training

What You Bring

Required Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience

• Minimum of 5 years in heavy highway construction or a related field

• Valid driver’s license

Technical Expertise

• Estimating and project management for HMA/concrete projects

• Quantity takeoff, means & methods, and construction technology

• Familiarity with B2W, Bluebeam, etc.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote)

• Ability to adapt and utilize AI tools and construction software to increase efficiency
